Im new to netware 3.12 systems.. have managed to get a scsi card 2940 to be loaded with the command (load c:\server.312\aic7870) okay, now that i have that going for me.. how do i get the novell drive that should be drive letter D: to be mounted so the info on that drive can be displayed?
when the scsi starts it shows the first drive starting out as C:81h and the drive i need the info off of is listed as 82h. all i basicly need is to get the info off the novel partion drive. (Just wish i could find the power supply that went out on the old server. might be alot easier!)
Anyway - how do you mount a scsi drive on a scsi card with the netware 3.12 server running? (BTW: the main drive C: is the boot drive in DOS\ on a Scsi Drive.)
Please help if possible, or anything that might help me get the info needed off this drive.

update: figured something out from a post.

at the command prompt I typed ( load install ) In that menu, I was able to mount the scsi drive named VOL1) GASP! OKAY, reading alittle more into the post.. inorder for me to retreave the data I need to get a client on a computer, the most current? will that work with XP?
I take it i will need to move the data Via network. is there a command that will bring up the list of files on the mounted drive? (Im still looking for prompt commands:btw) I have a HUB and patch cable.. would i need to map the drive i need the info off of ?
I'll update if i figure this problem out.

Download the Novell Client from http://download.novell.com and install it with IPX. Using the client login to the server and you can then use network neiborhood to browse the mounted volumes on the server. Another alternative is use the Novell Consolidation Utility to move data around or the migration utilty to setup a new server and move that volume to it.

Let's see... You have accomplished much.

You have the driver loaded and the volume mounted, that is the hardest part.

You can list/copy files from the volume two ways.

1. You can install the Netware client on a networked PC, login to the server, map a drive to the appropriate volume and use an appropriate utility to list/copy/move files.

2. You can use toolbox.nlm (downloadable from novell.com) to work at the server. Toolbox.nlm is a utility that provides some DOS-like command line functionality at the Netware server console. Being a command line utility, it is a little clunky when copying large amounts of data in deeply nested folders. Using toolbox.nlm you can copy files to a different location on the same server or to a different server on the network. If you decide to try it, be sure to get a version that works with your version of Netware.

You can find some information and a download link for toolbox.nlm and some other utilities here:
