Netware 3.12 IDE over 8gb

Hi,
I have a netware 3.12 server which needs to have a 40GB hard drive installed. I load ide.dsk and then load install to set my partition, but it will not see more than 8gb!! Will i have to get a scsi disk, Or does anyone know of a fix???
