netdi.dll for client 32

Hi...Been trying to set up Client 32 on a W98 machine... It is telling me that I need an updated netdi.dll file...dated after 6/28/1998...
After much looking around I think I finally found a later dated dll file...I put into the C:\windows\system directory, renamed the old netdi.dll file to netdi.old and tried to reload client 32 again and get the same error message...
Does any one have any info on updating the netdi.dll file...???
We have about 1000 computers on this Novell network, and I think (?) this is the first time this error has appeared...
