If you are lucky, you may have a friend thats a Netwae admin and he can show you some tips. If not, there are many great books out that wil help. There is a line of books put out by "Que" that I like. They are easy to read and understand. I was in the same shape as you are when I first started out with Netware. The BEST thing you can do is buy the Netware demo from Novell ($25.00) and load it on a computer at your home and you can do whatever you want then. Its not as hard as you think. Good luck.

Try Novell's own Book: Netware 5 Basics. Good way of getting into NDS and understanding it. Also a nice size so easy to read on the Train etc.
