I have a Sharp AR205 printer that I have been trying to get on the network.
According to the directions I need to set the printer up through the Novell Printer Gateway. I follow through the NW Admin NDPS printer wizard, select Novell Printer Gateway, Novell Port Handler, LPR/TCPIP, add the IP address, select the drivers and hit finish. Once the printer is created the manager shows the printer as not being bound.
When I shut down and restart the printer I get the following message: "The Print Device Subsystem could not be bind to the requested Port Handler. Make sure the requested Port Handler is loaded or correct any failure that the Port Handler reported."
I have tried to load the port handler manually with the following command:
"ph port=lpr hostaddress=xxx.xx.xx.xx printername=ndps-printer"The error message I get when loading this is: "The command did not include a value for the required printeragent argument. Enter the command again specifiying the mandatory argument with an appropriate value."
Ahhhh …. What am I missing? I can't find a straight answer as to EXACTLY what I should be loading here.
