Comment:
I have netware 3.12 LAN with 10GB hard disk. Tape backup is arcserve 6.1 using 4-8GB cartridge. The backup is asking for 2nd cartridge. On loading it is not accepting the 2nd cartridge. How do I make the system to accept mutliple cartridge using arcserve manager or enable spanning to accept the 2nd cartridge.
Pls advise as quickly as possible as the backups have not gone through for the past 4 days.

If I may suggest an alternative. Breakup your backup into two sessions. I only suggest this because of the potential problems you can run into when using AS and Spanning. I speak from experience.
We backup approx. 80g each night. We just recently started filling one tape and needed another. Having seen the problems we went through when we went to spanning the time before this. We just breakup our backup into mutiple sessions now. The problems you will run into when doing Spanning w/AS is when you go to Restore from them. And that is when you definetly do not want problems.
With you only having 10g max to backup it would seem that you could have two sessions with plenty of room for growth.
