MTU size for Novell 5.0

The default setting on Novell 5.0 (Service Pack 3) for the MTU size is around 4,400 bytes. We run Ethernet 802.3 and the default setting for most of our equipment, including the 3com drivers for the NIC in the server, is 1500 bytes for the MTU. Would changing this setting down to 1530 on the Server increase network performance?

This will make your network traffic much more efficient and should increase your network speed. I have all of my servers and workstations configured this way
