Hi, I have only recently had this problem (it started this past week).
When a user reboots their computer, it comes up with the "Novell Client for Windows" logon. They log in just fine.
When they LOGOFF their computer, the logon screen that comes up the next time they log on is the "Welcome to Windows" screen. When they log on via this screen, they do not get any of their normal resources.
I am wondering why it is going to the Welcome to Windows screen rather than the Novell Client for Windows. This only recently started happenning, and there were no changes in the system setup. This is happenning to all my users connectig to our Novell Server (v.3.12). We are running Windows 98.
When they restart their computer they always get the Novell Client for Windows screen, it just seems that after they log off, the screen that comes up next is the Windows Logon.
Any ideas?

That's really weird Emma.
Are you sure that nothing is changing when they log off? If you have access to ZENworks (there's an evaluation version on novell.com) you could run a snapshot. It will tell you what has changed after the logoff.Failing that, I'd try posting in the Novell forums.

reinstall the client. This is not correct. I can logout of 95/98/W2K boxes here at work and ALWAYS get the netware login box.
Only other reason I can think of is netware on a logout is not detecting a network connection. If you don't have a network connection you won't get the login box on 9x.

Hi Emma.
Try the troubleshooting proccess in this link:
