If logged in as a student if you copy files to a unlocked folder and after the files have started copying (must be a large file) open up a window that has locked folders(like Macintosh Hardrive) in it the locks disappear. They only disappear for a short time while the file is copying. Email me if this works for you. I have had other people be succesful with it. Just thought admins would like to know.
