Is SLP necessary in Netware 6

I migrated netware 4.2 servers to netware 6. Everything seems to work fine. A friend had a company come in and migrate their servers to netware 6 and they are making a big deal out of SLP. These are small networks with about 10 servers. Their NDS had some containers created by default called SLPDEfault. My NDS has no containers like that. They are having all kinds of problems with NDS now since their upgrade and my friend thinks it has something to do with SLP. I guess My question is do you have to use SLP and use the SLP directory agent?

If you are running ip you must have slp and the directory agent. My 5x NDS has slpda for each server [slp directory agent]. They in turn referance our ip scope.
Make sure your Nwadmin view has the slp stuff included.
