I am going to be introducing a windows 2003 server to a network of only netware servers. it is only going to be a nfileserver to hold users documents and so on and nothing else. but the problem i have to transfer all existing files to the new 2003 box and i am not usre on how to transfer the novell security settings onto the new 2003 box. Ultimately my goal is to free up a lot of disk space on the existing Novell server as it really needs it. If there is anyone out there with any ideas they will be greatly appreciated.

A recent Novell seminar I went to said that the rights from Netware volumes couldn't be migrated to Windows servers since the Windwos server doesn't support near as many access controls compared to the Netware server. Have no idea if this is true or not. Why don't you just set it up as Another Netware box to save yourself the trouble? You can backup and restore the rights with the trustbar.nlm utility. Or you could setup a Netware box to act as an iSCSI server and just assign more storage space to your main server. my two cents
