May sound silly but, we would like to share an internet connection thru our Novell 5.1 network. Should it as 'easy' as bringing in the fractional T1 thru a Firewall (Cisco 501 PIX) and into one of the router's ports? Then all the computers connected to that same router should be able to access the internet?

Since you have Netware 5.1 the easiest way to share internet would be by enabling NAT(Network Address Translation) Enable this in INETCFG from the server console. Check Novell's support site for more info on how to set it up ... just type "configuring NAT"
We found that routers did not connect well to netware 4.11. Wingate worked like a charm, although it took a while to set it up. We had to use abnormal port settings, with which the wingate people really helped.
