Our business has a Novel network that is running NetWare for Small Business 4.2. There are about 20 computers logging on the server over IPX/SPX protocol, all of them are W98 using client 2.50. The business recently purchased a great new computer with the operating system W2K Pro. How does one go about setting up the W2K to log into the server? What protocols, services, and clients are needed? Do I need to download a new Novell client from their website? Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

You can download Netware client for Win2K version 4.8 from the Novell website. The simplest solution for you though would be to install the Microsoft Client service for Netware that is bundled with Win2K. It is a very basic IPX only protocol. ( Properties on your Local Area Connection, Install, Client, Microsoft, Microsoft Client service for Netware.

Is there any advantage to using client32 over MS client to log onto Netware?

Only management, really. You can push applications, workstation settings, and printers using the Novell client. You also need it for NDS (MS has a NDS-enabled client but my results with it have been spotty). You also need it to access a server via IP (MS is ipx-only). For the small office, using IPX and probably one NDS context, there's no real advantage.
