Hi Guyz
I have installed netware 6 with tcp/ip and ip address statically assigned (not from dhcp). It boots properly and every thing seems working fine. But the clients are unable to find the server. I think there could be two problems. Either NIC driver is not working properly as during installation it showed multiple drivers for my card and i think i have selected the wrong one. Secondly ip address might not be correctly assigned. It might be already in use.
Can u guyz help me out to resolve this problem. I am new to this NOS so cant even install anything or view tcp/ip settings etcThanks in advance

Any chance you could post the configurtion settings you used? IP address, subnet mask, gateway, and Ip address of the rest of the network, bind command,Load command from autoexec.ncf, etc.?
Can a client ping the server? Did you try server.exe -na loading the load and bind manually to see if they were succssful? Why do you have multiple NICs? Have you tried removing all but one NIC? You said you think you selected th wrong one. wrong being nic driver or NIC?

Hi,
at the server console prompt, type in CONFIG and press the enter key.
This shows the NIC configuration to you.Normally, the configuration of the NICs (IP/IPX, Subnetmask u.s.o.) is made in autoexec.ncf file.
You can check it by typing EDIT AUTOEXEC.NCF at console prompt.
If there is a # at the beginning of the lines for the NICs, you have to use another tool for checking or changing the configuration.
It's called INETCFG.
There you can change the NIC, IP addresses, gateway, name server ...Hope that helps.

Thanks both of you for your replies. It was an IP address problem which was wrong. I have corrected it with inetcfg command. Paulsep, your reply helped alot. Thank you so much.
