OK, I'm new to Novell I have three computers attached to a 4.11 server at work I have a printer that I want all the stations to share. the printer doesn't have its own nic it has Usb and a parrallel port. the three stations are running win98se any help would be great.its a brother printer if that matters

Hi...I recently went through this same problem myself (and am also to netware 4.1)...I have it setup as follows but I'm no expert. I have the printer hooked into the parallel port of one of the win98 machines. I installed file and print sharing for novell networks, in the networking section of control panel. Then when you set up the printer on the computer its hooked up to set it up just as any other printer. On the other sets ensure when you setup the printer to pick the network (not local) option and then browse for the computer it is hooked up to and click on the appropriate printer...Hope it helps...any more questions just e-mail...but I can't promise answers because I'm new to netware as well (and heavily pressing my organization to switch to windows at that)

what you need is a printserver
than you can make a utp conection to your hubor what jivesh say's make a lpt conection whit your server and start pconsole

You need to hook up a Print Server to one of the network ports (RJ45 Jacks). Then you will need to install JET ADMIN on your computer so that you can configure your printer with an IP address. Here is what you need to do:
First, you need to plug in the Print server to the network. Then, connect the Printer to the first Parallel printer port on the print server. Last, install or download Jet Admin so that you can add / configure the printer to the network. When you run Jet Admin, it creates a network printer port. Then, when you add the printer, you should be able to see the port listed.Fernando Arana
