how many nics in a netware 5.1 serv

CPU/Ram: p3/1gb

I have a 5.1 server w/ 2 nics. I wanted to install a 3rd nic for some testing,I installed it, and after I changed the ip address for the 3rd nic, the card failed and the o/s can't see it. 2 of the nics are compaq, the 3rd is a 3com 10/100 any ideas? thanks

um did you test the card in a different machine? If dead replace it.

This may be a simple question, but did you configure the third NIC using INETCFG.nlm?
