Have to share *.* after update file

I am using Novell 4.11. I have a program that updates exisitng files. Every time one of these files are updated I have to go in to the directory and use share *.* on all files in order for the program to work properly. Does anyone know of a way I can automate this process or not have it wipe out the shared rights every time?? Thanks
