Hard disc Partition over 8GO under Novell 4.11

We had to re-install a 10go disc on our server. But Novell does not see more then 8go. How can i make novell see my extra 2 gigs?

Novell doesn't have a limit that would keep you from seeing all the space. Maybe try a newer driver. Can you be more specific? Once you load the driver and go into modify partitions within install, do you see more than one partition on the drive? Is this the only drive in the server. Does it have the DOS partition on it or some other non Novell partition? Also make sure you hotfix area isn't super big and taking up the space.

You may not see more than 8gig from large disk support from DOS, but your volumes can be any size, like 80gigs like we have here.

If it is a EIDE disk there could be a problem. First of all. You'l need a bios that can see all of the disk. You will need the servicepack 6 or later (or just the IDE-files: IDEHD.CDM and IDEHD.DDI) for Novell to take advantage of the disk.
With SCSI disk there shouldn't be any limits.

Missing something guys. We just had the same problem. We had to install service pack 6 to be able to handle greater than 8 gb. harddrives. Get the patch and you will be fine.
