Does anyone know what the GWWORK directory in GroupWise 5.2 is used for? The full path is k:\gw5\ldomain\wpgate\gwia\000.prc\gwwork. It appears that the files in the directory are or were email attachements. There are currently 442 files useing 805MB of diskspace.
Can these files be deleted?

The 000.prc\gwwork directory is used for processing mail by the gw internet agent.
The files stuck in this queue suggest that your gateway may have a problems processing those files at some stage.
The files can be deleted but your users will not get those messages. Best thing to do is to copy the directory to another location, shut down the internet agent, delete the 000.prc directory, restart the internet agent (this will recreate the 000.prc dir) and copy the files (a few at a time) back into the 000.prc\gwwork dir to see if the gateway will process the files. You will find that some files are holding up the queue due to corruptions etc. Delete the bad files and all should go ok.

Reno,
Thanks for the help. I renamed the 000.prc directory as you directed. I also coppied one of the old GWWORK files into the newly created directory. The GWIA did not seem to process it. Do you know if the filles in the GWWORK directory are incoming or outgoing messages? I'll keep an eye on the new directory and see if things are working better now.
