Hi,
I have a package that needs to install some files from the client machine to NetWare server (mapped drives). What we did is to get all mapped netware drives from the client system, and present the list (drive/UNC path) of the mapped drives to let users to pick.
This all worked fine until I switched to Vista. On Vista, we have to leave UAC on, and at the beginning of install, UAC will prompt for elevation, unfortunately, once elevated, the elevated account can't "see" any of the mapped drives from the unelevated account. I partially fixed the issue by setting a system policy reg entry "EnableLinikedConnections", I said "partially" because all other mapped drives now are visible at elevated account, but NOT netware server drives!!
I am new to NetWare and what I want is to get the list of mapped NetWare drives (the client could connect to more than one Novell Servers) with the UNC paths, so I can present to user for selection.
Can anybody here help me out on this? Please note that we have 'Novell Client 1.0 Vista' installed on client (Vista).
I searched registry and saw that HKCU\Software\NetWare\NDSConnections does have the mapped drive letters, but how can I get the path info for each of them? HKCU\Software\NetWare\MappedDrives is not working because the entries are not directly linked to the mapped drive letters OR I don't know how to link them with the drive letters.
Are there any files storedon client that contains the mapping information?
Thanks,
Peter

The mappings for the netware drives are stored in a user login script in the NDS (eDirectory) at the netware server.
I have no knowledge about the Netware Client for Vista, but maybe there is an option like User Administration, where you can browse the authenticated users login script.
Try a right click at the little netware icon in systray.

Hi Peter ,
The netware drives are created in the login script , during the novell client login , it maps the server drives to a desirerd letter . if u have sufficient rights within the netware environment u could change this ..
u could use consoleOne for this purpose :)
for more information i would like to point you to support.novell.com
