Excel on Novell stuck in read-only.

I have an excel spread sheet saved to a novell volume directory. When first logging on it is fine but after closing the file it will only open in read-only mode until the user logs off and back in. It seems like some kind of novell error where the client isn't releasing the lock on the file when it closes it. We're using the most current version of the Novell Client 4.83 SP1. Anyone hear of this problem. I'd greatly appreciate any help. Thanks, Chris

I have had the same type of problem only it still occurs when the user logs back in. We are running Windows XP Pro and I found a good workaround is to boot the machine into safe mode and remove the read-only access on the root of the drive.
Novell still protects important folders like WINDOWS, Prog Files, etc.
