We are running WinXP SP1 Client with the Novell Client 4.83 SP1, with a Novell 5.1 Server. And when a client is working in Excel 97 and trying to save to a network drive they are receving the following error: "Your changes could not be saved to "Book 1", but were saved to a temporary document named '202b3000'. Close the existing document, then open the temporary document and save it under a new name. There is a KB artical pertaning to this error for novell 4.1 Q113600 but did not provide the fix for me. Is there anyone else with this problem? If so please help.
Thanks

Have you seen this?
Changes Saved to Temporary Document Error Message:
You attempt to save a workbook in Excel, and you see an error message similar to the following:
Your changes could not be saved to '|1', but were saved to a temporary document named '|0'. Close the existing document, then open the temporary document and save it under a new name.
This error message occurs because you are saving to a network drive or because the file was opened in Outlook. Excel first writes a temporary file and then renames the temporary file to the name of the file being saved, such as BOOK1.XLS.
Solution One:
When you save a workbook file on a network drive, you must have both Modify and Delete rights for the directory to which you are
saving the file. Talk to your network administrator to see whether you can get these rights for this or another network drive on which you can save your Excel workbook files. For more information, see KB articles Q214032 and Q214073.Solution Two:
Do not use Outlook to open Excel workbook files.

Ok underdog,
First we are not using outlook to open files, the clients do not even have outlook installed because we are on Groupwise. Second of all I am the Admin and I have given the user every possible right that I can give them. It is not happing on all machines just a handful of them, think it could be installation? Anyways thanks for your help underdog, does anyone else have any suggestions?
Thanks

On a different but similar post the problem stemmed from having the latest version of Norton AV running. "IF" memory serves me correctly, disabling AV corrected the problem or was at least "explored".

Just in case your intersted and have exhausted all other resources for the fix to your problem.
Novell has a Product Update for NW Client 4.83 SP1. This is a Post update, and they say that it fixes many problems w/the 4.83SP1 Client. You should know that it is Beta. You can find it with Novell's File Finder.
File Name = 302085.exe
