I recently bought a computer at a school auction. It had novell on it and i cant login. Ive tried cancelling everything but that dont work and i tried to do workstation only. Any suggestions on how i get pass this??

You mean it had the Novell client for windows on it.
The password for the Novell client works the same way as for the Microsoft networking client - it takes control over access to the system. You still need the password for the workstation itself.
Apply the same techniques as you would if you forgot your Windows password.
After you are in Windows with administrative priveleges you can remove the novell client through Add/Remove programs.

Thanks I got passed it. I finally got into safe mode, uninstalled novell, restarted then ran into a problem. nwgina.dll was unable to load and it had me restart. I had to go back into safemode and change a registry key from nwgina.dll to msgina.dll and the problem was solved. I also created a new user account so I could logon to windows.

thanks for posting back. nwgina.dll is basically the login mechanism for novell client, msgina.dll is the M$ counterpart.
