After installing the Zen starter pack, I atempted to implement a policy that locks down the users desktop (hide "my network places", mandatory wallpaper, etc) When I log on as the user, I am able to see everything and there is NO wallpaper. I verified that the policy is enabled. I verified that I specified the correct platform (Win2k), and associated the policy with that user. ......confused.
ps....any hot looking computer nerds out there out there? j/k :P

What version of Zen are you trying to implement? 3.2? 4? Zenworks needs at least 3 main parts to be installed in order to function. You need the server side Zen installed, along with the client side "Agent" and a system running ConsoleOne with the appropriate snap-ins. Also, you might have to install the Novell client again and insure 'Zenworks application launcher' is selected/installed. If all this has been done, it's all down to the configuration part now. Perhaps you didn't assign the rights appropriately.

Did you run wsreg32.exe on the desktops prior to configuring the policy? Did you configure the workstation import policy? Did you prepare the Container objects for the importation of workstations objects? If you can, consult chapter 10 of the NetWare 5.1 Administration student manual. Write me if you need more information.
ps I get my share of looks. What do you look like?? ;->

Good suggestions so far -- I just have one to add.
Make sure you are running the Workstation manager at each workstation. Without it, client32 will not "read" and apply desktop policies. If necessary, reinstall Client32 at each workstation make sure everything is installed.
To my knowledge, you do not need to register workstations in ZenWorks for user policies to be enabled. Just make sure that you activate the policies "on user login" and workstation manager is loaded at startup on the desktop systems.
Good luck :)
