Hi - We have a bank with 1 Novell 6 server and they are setting up a Disaster Recovery site also with 1 Novell 6 server.
They just want to copy (once or twice a day) all of the changed data from the production Novell machine, to the DR machine. What is the best way to copy data automatically

Hi Aaron,
I think you don't want to copy just the data but also alle permissions and rights. If that's the case you can use a program like ArcServe or Brightstore. When you just want to copy only the data you can make a task that performs a NCOPY several times a day.

There is a much larger picture you need to be looking at. Banks use databases. You can't ncopy a database that is in use.
There is also the consideration of bandwidth between sites. How much data is going to be copied? What will the load be on the link?
Does the bank require realtime data or is 12hours [assuming 2x a day] data loss acceptable [for a bank the answer is easy - [NOT!]
There are products like backup server that can do realtime replication and they have instant failover. But they are expensive and require some expertise to setup.
You need to get the full picture before you can make or get a recommendation.

Thanks guys...wanderer. There is a T1 between the sites and there is less than 15 GB on the production Novell server. It is a small branch.
You do bring up a good point about the databases, that I will have to investigate.

T1's come in many flavors. You can have a point to point [1.54mbps] which is the best but expensive. Or you can have Frame Relay which starts out at 56K with a cir of 28k [Your modem is faster] and can go up to 1.54 port speed but a cir of 768k.
Make sure when you say T1 what flavor you are talking about. 15gig across 56k will take a LONG TIME.
Don't forget you can't copy open files !!!!
