Hello,
I recently started working as an admin at a company that uses Netware 6.5 for one of its servers. I have not used Netware that much and have a question. The server had to be rebooted the other day. After it was rebooted, I noticed that one of the choices from the console menu disappeared. We used to have a choice numbered 5 or 6 that you could type in and press Enter and you would get a screen to see information like how much of the CPU is being utilized. How can I add that back as one of the console choices? Forgive me if I did not use the correct terminology. I am much more familiar with Windows Servers than Novell and only have to touch the Novell server once in a blue moon.

If I understand you correct, you used the MONITOR screen to monitor your system. To load this screen just type MONITOR at the console screen.
If you want to have the MONITOR allways on your system you should insert the comannd MONITOR as the last line in your autoexec.ncf file.

If you need the numbered list of running programs and services on the server, you can get it by pressing CTRL+ESC key.

Thanks for the help. I typed in Monitor at the command prompt (don't know correct name for it in Novell) as you suggested and I was able to get Monitor back. It also showed up in Console Choices menu.
I will be happy when I receive Netware training. They showed me a little bit, but they haven't had time for full on training. The good thing is that Novell seems to be very stable, so there is not a lot I have to do at the server console besides checking up on it and backups. The rest of my work with the server is just loading programs that we will deploy to our workstations.
Thanks again.

I chose to get training for Novell software after experiencing how good it is to work with Netware (6.0). Unfortunately my company just uses Windows. I'm hoping to use my CNA in another job. The whole design of Netware seems to presuppose the administrator will be competent and intelligent. Things work logically. I don't think there are many like me, going from Windows to Netware, but the ones who do are happily surprised.
