Hi,
I am having Novell Server 4.11 with 12 diskless nodes booting to novell Server. Now I want to connect additional Windows machine (Win XP or 2003 Server) and access via Novell Server.
I am able to connect my Windows Machine to Novell Server by specifying IPX protocal in Windows Machine but I want all my dos nodes to access the files loaded on the Winodws machine.
Is there any settings in Novell Server so that I can mount/use the Windows Hard Disk under novell and give access to all the diskless nodes

Hi,
that sounds very crazy !!!
Why don't you simply copy that files to Netware Server, so that you and all other have access to it?Paul

Hi Paul,
At present I am running DOS clipper based Accounting program which I am running on Novell Server. This I want to convert to windows based. On Windows I want to use Advantage Database Server which can directly use clipper DBF databases. Also the dos clipper program can be modified to connect to Advantage Server running on Windows. During the migration period from DOS to Windows both the DOS & Windows program will be running simultaneously and will be accessing same data.
Hence the need to access files from Windows Machine.

Have you done your research?
Advantage runs on Netware as well as MS.
If you are planning on migrating to MS you will lose the 10 diskless wksts. There is no support for diskless wksts per say in MS. Closest you can get are thin clients and terminal server [which is expensive].
you might want to google on third party software on netware that allows you mount MS volumes. I don't know of any feature in netware that would allow you to access ms volumes.
Golly gee wilerkers everyone. Learn to Internet Search
