Does anyone know if there is a way to connect to a server running Novell 5.1 from a W2K workstation WITHOUT INSTALLING THE NOVELL CLIENT or NETWARE FOR WINDOWS CLIENT. Both server and workstations are running TCP/IP.

actually...

Check it out. One of the other options might work for you

You did not explain what you mean by connect, as in the resources you want to use on the NetWare host.
For drive mapping you need...
Novell's latest NetWare client software
or
The Microsoft client for NetWare
- This only supports SPX connections
or
Novell's NFAP running on the host NetWare server in which case no NetWare client software will be needed (either from Novell or Microsoft) since the NFAP software makes the NetWare host look like a Windows host. For file upload/download situations in a TCP/IP environment, then you can use FTP to connect to and upload files to or download files from the NetWare 5.1 host, if the NetWare host's administrator has enabled the FTP server and either has setup an anonymous account or provided you with an existing NDS account name and password for that host.
HTTPS can also be used via a web browser to upload or download files, and limited file maintenance, if the client user has a NetWare administrator account for that host.
Telnet cold also be used, if the NetWare administrator has enabled that option.
