Hi Guys !

First of all; I'm new to NetWare so if my question is silly please forgive me :).
The problem looks as follow:
In my local network I've got 2 subnets:
192.168.1.0/24
192.168.2.0/24
The NetWare server is placed in first subnet.
End users are on both subnets. The problem is when I move end user from first subnet to the other. In this case all mapped disks are not longer available. Furthermore the server doesn't reply on ping request from hosts in second subnet. All other communication in working.

From my point of view it looks like the NetWare server accepts the communication only from 192.168.1.0/24.

Do you have any ideas how to deal with this issue?
Thanks in advance.

You problem is a basic problem, not a netware problem. You would have the same issue with Windows server or Linux server.

Subnetting means, you separate a local net in 2 or more logical networks. So each server or pc in subnet 1 can only communicate with each other in subnet one. That's the same for subnet 2. They can only communicate with PC's and servers in subnet 2.

And that's the same with the internet.
The whole internet is in different networks.
So you normally not able to communicate with servers in the internet.
In this case you need a router that can communicate with more than one network or subnetwork.

You can mount a second network card into the server and connect this card to network 2, or you use a router that is connected to both networks.

But this is basic knowledge of networking.

Please send a reply, if you solved the problem !!!
