Yes !!!

For starting netware, you first have to start a DOS.
Ok, DOS, when starting, reads the time from the BIOS (RTC, Real time clock) and based on that, it runs it's own software clock.
When DOS restarts, it sets the time from the software clock into the RTC.

But what happend, when you've started netware in the mean time.
The DOS software clock is not running because netware uses it's own software clock. This software clock is based on the first gotten DOS time.
When you set the time at the server console, it's ok, as long as netware is running.
When you down the server, you get back to the DOS prompt and the software clock from DOS starts, where it stopped right before starting the server. So when the server was running for about 1 week, the difference from Novell Netware to the DOS software clock is 1 week.
And now, you restart the machine. DOS sets the RTC and then restarts the machine, that's the problem.

When you restart the server by the command "reset server", you will not get back to DOS, but restart the machine directly and it works.

I worked around this by setting an external time source on the server. I use an atom clock server in Braunschweig, which provides the NTP service. When the server starts and initializes the network cards and gets connected to the internet, it requests the time from these external time source and sets the Netware time correctly, independent of the DOS time, or RTC or whatever. In netware, I have the correct time.
That's neccessary, when you're running more than 1 netware server in your environment.

Please send a reply, if you solved the problem !!!
