Netware 6
we have containers in our tree that have hundreds of new users in them that are students for the upcoming years (2004, 2005, 2006, etc). somehow the kids (users) were imported and the objects created - but they all have Supervisor and Access Control rights to their home directory. is there any way to change an entire container to take those 2 rights away? as it stands, i have to open up each user, find the directory, and uncheck the boxes manually.
thanks

There are two sets of rights in NetWare: object/property rights and file system rights. What you are referring to are file system rights. You cannot filter file system rights at the container level although you can make trustee assignments in the file system at the container level; example: [PUBLIC] has Read and File Scan to sys:public. What I would do is to make a Template object to make all the student User objects. I would use the option to create the student's home directory and by doing so, the proper rights would be assigned to every user object made with the template. In your case, in each container you would choose the 'details on multiple objects' from the Object drop-down menu and select all the user objects that you need to modify with respect to their home directories. This is infinitely faster than modifying each user account separately.

Select from NWAdmin32 al the users and then select properties on multiple users in the upper tray and assign the rights you wanted
