The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran has issued a warning targeting the $30 billion Stargate AI facility under development in Abu Dhabi. Tehran Times shared the video message on X.com on April 3, 2026.
Brigadier General Ebrahim Zolfaghari delivered the message, stating that “complete and utter annihilation” would result from any U.S. military action against Iranian power facilities. According to the IRGC statement, all American-affiliated information and communication technology enterprises operating in the region qualify as “legitimate targets.”
The footage displayed a Google Maps-style approach toward the Stargate facility’s position along the UAE coastline. The presentation transitioned to a simulated night-vision perspective showing the complete site configuration. Images of OpenAI’s CEO Sam Altman and Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang appeared within the video material.
President Donald Trump participated in the May 2025 launch of the Stargate initiative. The development represents the most extensive AI data center complex planned for construction beyond American borders.
Major technology corporations support the venture. OpenAI and Microsoft lead AI system development. Nvidia and SoftBank contribute semiconductor technology and financial resources. Oracle and Cisco manage cloud computing and networking systems. MGX of Abu Dhabi serves as a principal financial backer.
Regional Technology Assets Already Damaged
The warning follows documented damage to area facilities. Debris from an intercepted Iranian missile impacted an Oracle data center in Dubai on April 2, 2026, causing structural damage to the building’s exterior.
Amazon Web Services experienced power interruptions at a regional location during comparable attacks. UAE Ministry of Defence records indicate successful interception of over 500 missiles and 2,100 drones originating from Iran since February 2026.
Construction continues at the Stargate campus. The nearby incidents demonstrate current impact on UAE technology infrastructure from ongoing regional tensions.
The IRGC video specifically addressed Google’s privacy measures, stating “nothing stays hidden from our sight, though hidden by Google.” The statement referenced the facility’s limited visibility on consumer mapping platforms.
Financial Market Response
The direct warning against the project has had limited effect on Nvidia, which maintains a perfect Smart Score of 10 based on analyst agreement. Among participating companies, only Cisco showed positive monthly performance with a 0.48% increase.
Microsoft and Nvidia both receive substantial upside projections from financial analysts. Market participants currently view the circumstances as regionally contained geopolitical developments.
OpenAI declined to provide commentary when contacted by Seeking Alpha during their reporting period.
The April 2 missile debris impact on Oracle’s Dubai data center represents the latest verified incident.
