We have a Netware 3.12 server and are trying to run the capture command on Win XP Pro and get an error message stating that the command "capture" is not a recognized as an internal or external command. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Jon Tx the capture command was a dos command - I dont think those young prograners at micorosft even know of that - since you using the latest in evil empire tecknology you have eliminated any latency abilities. I believe your trying to capture to a nw 3x print que this cant be done in the manner that was - you need to set up IP printing - you have several choices a Hp solution or setting up a NT/win2k server for printing or setting up a Novell NW 5/6 NDPS server for this all of then cost money. (conveting the nw3 box to nw 6 is easy) One free thing you can do is to downgrade the XP os to win2k pro for free-per MS-you can do that provied you have a license off of a 2k ws once this is done then you can use the capture command.

Jon...here is the solution I believe.
When you run any application that writes directly to a predefined port, the net use command works like the NetWare capture tool, associating the NetWare print queue with the port. To redirect output from a port to a print queue
At the command prompt, type: net use lpt1 \\ServerName\PrintQueue

We are running Novell 5 and the capture command works just fine. Make sure that z:\public is in your search path or call the capture command directly from z:\public.
