Comment:
I am unable to browse any NDS trees on a remote subnet. I have a NW6.5 server over a few router hops which have routes enabled. I can ping the server which hosts the eDirectory. I have client 4.9. No trees seem to be available. When I enter the name of the tree even, no go. It says it cannot find it? I dont understand this. Can anyone help please? I want to be able to use consoleone etc to manage the server. (imanager is fine by the way)

Short answer: Try authenticating (in ConsoleOne) to Tree-Name/IP address (e.g. My-Tree/192.168.0.2) with the correct UID,password & context.
Long answer: Setup SLP on your network(s) to properly advertise your NetWare resources. That means one or two DA's (Directory Agents) centrally located and all other resources (servers and clients) pointing to those DA's. http://www.novell.com/documentation/lg/nw65/pdfdoc/scommenu/scommenu.pdf.
