My college network runs Novell 4.86, a bunch of us can't stand the restrictions they have set up so we figured out a loophole in the system, you used to be able to press cancel and you could then log into windows, but now you can't. So We found if you pulled the network lead out then tried to log on, it asks if you want to log into windows. Great while it lasted.

But now, they muct of got wind of what we were doing, so they have made it so Novell doesn't ask you if you want to log into Windows. What we'd liek to know is if there is a combo key or something we can do to bypass the novell login once again... the college uses XP Pro.

No - you've lucked out.

The computer you are attempting to hack does not belong to you. It was provided by the College to provide curriculum outcomes for the wider benefit of students, not for your individual personal gratification.

You have no legitimate right to breach the network policies of your college.

Actualy, I do. I technicly pay the state with taxes (and I do pay tax since I'm 18), since my tax goes to the goverment, it pays for any goverment run facilities. My college is a state run school, and therfore is a goverment run facility, I pay the teachers, I pay for the equiptment, I am the law.

Now, is someone with no morals going to tell me how to get windows log-on back ? Or do I have to keep on posting?

The computer you are attempting to hack does not belong to you alone - its ownership is shared by all taxpayers.
Neither do you alone pay the salary of the college staff.

I'll even be generous with my share of the college computers and staff(it is highly likely to be a greater share than yours because I have probably paid more tax over many more years than you). You are quite free to use my share under the rules the College impose.

I think the overwhelming majority of us taxpayers would be just as generous.

In the meantime, try contributing something positive to your college.

I bet you don't even know how to do it so why are you complaining when I ask? So what if I don't own the computers, if you ever rebelled in your life, why stop others from doing so, we own the world, we are the ones who create freedom for others, those who stick to the rules are just sheep in a bigger plot to keep you all from doing what we do.

Anyway, my friend got after he used this 5lim account to use these forums. Apparently he has an admin password now. Which is cool because when they have finished with it I'll be able to log on and put make the windows logon reappear when you pull the network lead. Even so, I'd still like to know how to do it. Without admin access for the time being since I don't have the password yet.

No there isn't any key combo, why don't you just accept the security measures put in place and instead of wasting your time on worthless activites do some work, which is the reason your at college. All the hard work put into programming and implementing network security all seems worth while since it can keep idiots like yourself out.

P.S anyone with half a brain could work out how to bring windows login back

Not rebelling here, just trying to get to work on my own laptop..
The novell log-in can't find the tree in either of the two places where i used to be able to connect to the network, so i can't get on the network.
I used to be able to use the "workstation only" option, but that has disappeared from the login screen.
I would like to log into my computer so that i can use it, instead of spending days being frustrated because i can't access any of my files!
