cannot see server from workstations

Workstations xp and win2k cannot see server. the window for my Network Places shows a icon for the novell connections, but when I try to explore the novell connection nothing is there.I assigned an IP for each workstation and still nothing happens. also tried to ping the workstation but that failed as well. Help!

What version of Netware? Have you installed the latest client for Netware on the XP/W2K boxes? Have you installed ipx? Are the workstation ip addresses and subnet in the same range as the Novell server? Doesn't sound like you have protocol connectivity which means no client connectivity.
