I have configured a Windows XP professional with static address and installed with Novell Client 32 4.83 SP1. The workstation can login to the Novell NetWare 6 server (TCP/IP only, NO DNS and DHCP) if the workstation is located in the same subnet of the NetWare 6 server, there is no problem to find the server and nds tree from My Netware Places, NetWare Services. However, if the workstation is moved to another subnet and using the approriate subnet ip address, it cannot login to the netware 6 server unless the server name in the Novell Client 32 login is changed to the server ip address instead of using server name. In addition, it cannot find the nds tree from My Network Places, Novell Directory Services. Any idea? Thanks in advance. Helium

sounds like your dns is missing some entries dealing with the subnets. Look at your dns configuration.
