Hi,
I'm running a Netware 4.2 server with a 4 gig SCSI drive. It is completely full. I can easily use DriveImage (or Ghost, I suspect) to move the Netware partition to a new, larger drive. Once done, is it possible to expand the partition to fill the rest of the drive? Programs like Partition Magic do this for most file systems, but not Novell. Can this be done through the INSTALL utility or through a third-party program? (I noticed that INSTALL has an option to modify a volume's size but I have been told it's destructive.)
If the answer is no, how about this-- can I create a second NW partition on the new drive and then add it to the existing volume? I did this once before on another server by adding a second HD to the volume and it did it on the fly. I understand that is not a good practice because if one HD goes down, the entire volume is lost. In this case, though, both partitions would be on the same physical drive so if one fails, they both fail anyway.
For the purposes of an answer, let's assume I am ready to do something. I have a 4.2 server with a 20G SCSI drive containing a 4G NW partition and 16G of free space after it. What is my best course of action to expand my existing volume?
Thanks,
Brandon Barnes

Yes you can do it, with a product called Server Magic, it is very easy, you can copy Netware partitions, expand volumes, etc.

Expand the volume using the install option. I have done it numerous times and I have never had a problem, as with any server modification take a full backup before you make any changes.
