I have a used Latitude w/ Win2K. The former user has a Novell Client for Windows login screen on a complete blue screen. I can not access anything in the computer except the BIOS set up pages. Can anyone help me get past this Novell login so I can get to Windows? Thx very much for any help.

If you look at the novell login screen you should have an advanced tab. One of the tabs available here is the Windows NT/2000. You will be able to select the local computer name and a local account to login under. If you did not get a local administrator password or local account name with password you will be reinstalling. Or try some of the Linux boot/hack sites for a password changer for W2K. Sysinternals.com I believe also has one but it costs money.

If you start up in safe mode and enter the registry with regedit, you look for a string called NWGina. That is the dll responsible for your login screen. You may change this into MSGina.dll to revert back to the Microsoft way of handling this.
BTW, there are other parties with their own Gina too, like symantec with pcAnywhere.
