Hello, sorry to bother but I recieved this pc from someone who doesn't have the time to fix it. I have no knowledge at all about novell or networking for that matter. But it seems this pc is infected with the W32.Opaserv.Worm virus. The previous owner had win 98 with some type of novell system installed for a mini business he ran. Now the pc can no longer boot up due to this virus. I tried connecting the HD of the pc to my pc and run a virus scanner but my pc with XPpro see's the HD as being unformatted. What program can I use from dos mode that will see this HD and Clean the infection. Please all and any help will be greatly appreciated. Please e-mail me the help. Thanks!

Was the NetWare (Novell) loaded on the this PC? or was it a client? If it was a client (workstation) with 9x on it and XP will not see the disk you have bigger problems. You will need to Fdisk and start over. Check the internet to find out what the virus does. If it has NetWare in this box (it was the server) you will not be able to see the disk partitions w/o some kind of utility / Linux or NetWare installation because NetWare uses its own disk partitioning.
Hope this helps!
Scott

If it is a novell server, it will have a Dos partition, Use a bootable floppy disk to fire up the computer. You should then be able to scan and clean the Dos partition. You will need to log into the server using a workstation client to scan and clean the netware partitions.
Cheers
Mike
