I recently upgraded a users machine from Windows NT to Windows 2000. On the Windows NT machine was a copy of ARCServeIT used to control the backups on a Novell 4.xx server. Thus, on the Windows 2000 machine, we installed a copy of ARCServe 6 for Netware to control the backups. Now, on the Windows 2000 machine, when we run ARCServe the following error appears:
"Btrieve error: 20 accessing file: Server/SYS:\ARCSERVE.6\DATABASE\ASTPPOOL.DB
Attempting to: Open File
Record Manager Inactive - Make sure BREQUEST.exe or the Btrieve DLL files are loaded."
and
"Btrieve error: 20 accessing file: Server/SYS:\ARCSERVE.6\DATABASE\ASOBJECT.DB
Attempting to: Open File
Record Manager Inactive - Make sure BREQUEST.exe or the Btrieve DLL files are loaded."
and
"Btrieve error: 20 accessing file:
Attempting to: Initialize Btrieve
Record Manager Inactive - Make sure BREQUEST.exe or the Btrieve DLL files are loaded."I have tried a few things and can't figure it out. Any suggestions? Please keep in mind I am a Novell novice. Thanks in advance!!

no wonder..... you need arcserve for windows not netware... so get a copy of arcserve for windows 2000... obviously you are using wrong version... i hope this proves helpful

This is the manager component of ARCServe that was installed. On CA's support site, it does specifiy that ARCServe 6.1 for Netware can be instaled on a Windows 2000 machine.

OK, I would suggest that you run Arcserve manager directly from Netware volume. Simply go to the Sys Vol and Arcserve folder and find Arcserve manager and double click on it. You actually do not need to install the manager to be able to access the resources. Please give it a try and let me know. Hope this proves helpful.
Cheers.
