Comment:

Can I have multiple protocols running on Novell 4.11. Arcserve indicates I need IPX for it to run on a win2k workstation. In device manager of arcserve on a win2k workstation I get a blank screen.
Any Ideas. Thanks for your help!!

Are you trying to view arcserve from the win2k workstation or backup the workstation with arcserve?.

For Arcserve v6.1 you'll need to load and bind IPX on both the server and management workstation. The Device Management screen requires an IPX connection, if you are using IP the Device Management screen will be blank. I've seen cases where changing the primary protocol preferences in the Client 32 screen to IPX speed up the management workstation's device and backup media searches.

IPX/SPX is used for communication between the workstation manager and the host server. IP is used by default for server to server communication.

Arcserve v7.0 for NetWare supports pure IP environments.
