disadvantages apps are not being written for the Netware platform.
advantages:netware is better than Ms
NDS is superior to AD. You can only have one name [like joe smith] in active directory per tree. I can have one name per context in NDS which means I can have dozens of joe smiths, one in NY, one in CA...etc.
Built in quotas Server disks - files are written defragged to the server - no defrag program required Sub-block allocation - on the server a 64k block can have 16 4k files written to that block whereas in Ms only 1 file can be written to that block. Means more disk waste with MS. Netware requires less hardware and goes faster/farther with what it has then Ms does.

I have to agree with wanderer Novell is far superior to any MS platform out there and with the new novell/linux desktop expect them to go from strength to strength. I've worked on MS, RM, Mac and Novell and I keep going back... To get the best out of Novell have as much RAM as you can and scsi hard drives. Don't expect to have to keep bringing the server down for maintenance(like MS), my oldest server hadsn't been down except for power cuts for over 5 years...
