Install the new hard drive into the server, then boot up and typpe "load install" at the command prompt. The use the Disk + Volume options to Add extra disk space to a volume.
If you have problems with this then post again.

Once the drive is added is there a way to transfer the SYS Directory to the new drive and delete the original (which is now spanning 2 drives in Netware 5.0).
Thank You

I also had this issue of extending the sys volume. But when I added the new hard drive and went into the properties of the sys volume it wouldn't let me extend it. I then tried to add a new volume and it gave me an error: error allocating memory for FAT table. Have you ever recieved this type of message? I only have this one Novell server and it is part of an NT 4.0 network, so I am very unfamiliar with Novell products. Please help if you can. Thanks

No Problem,
add new hd, load install go to standard disk options, put a netware partition on the new hd, go to volume options, select sys, press INS and you can add the new free netware partition as an additional segment to sys.
!!! BE AWARE THAT IF ON SEGMENT (Harddrive) CRASHES THE WHOLE VOLUME IS LOST!!!
So thi sfeature should only be used with mirrored (that's RAID 0,1) drives

Groan - I'm play with a netware 5 server while studying for my CNA. Forgive my ignorance I'm an NT guy. Prob is I have 2 850 mb drives in the machine. Can get to them with Fdisk so they do live.
Install didn't recognise the second one. So per my book loaded nwconfig - but the only place to add volumes is in NSS. I don't want an NSS volume at the moment. I just want to add a simple usr volume. Boy this looks real different from the old netware.
Oh - and before every says ..look it up on Novell - I did and hit a strange glitch - all the relevant pages loaded but came up blank in my browser - ie5 straight from win2kpro with the novell client 32 loaded.
TIA
