Hello.

I have a Netware 5.0 server which was shut down
improperly and won't come back up.

It originally would start back up and report
processor speed then just kind of hang. You
could spawn another console but if you tried to
load anything, that console session would hang
too.

I first tried deleting the c:\nwserver\servcfg.*
files and then restarting the server. After
doing so, it no longer hung but now it reports an
error message regarding a load template during
stage 0.

I tried again deleting the servcfg files and
bringing up the server with the -ns to manually
troubleshoot load stages. But the server still
reports the template error during stage 0.

I found another tid (#10060438) that describes
manually going through the load stages then
renaming sys to sysold and deleting the servcfg
file under the sys:\_netware directory. But I'm
hestitant to follow that since I have been unable
to even manually follow the load stages process.

If I go into debug mode and look at processes, I
do get some hints regarding an initialization
process suspended by abend recovery. Not sure
what this means or what to do about it but
thought it may be helpful.

Any ideas on getting this server back up and
running would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Kimber
