need some more info:

1. what version of word are you using?
2. what version of word are you converting to?
3. are you trying to convert word files to another
format? (word perfect, nisus, etc.)

A word viewer of some sort would be MS Word. If you have this program, any word documents created on Mac or PC can be read on Mac or PC, so long as you can transfer them around. Go and buy the program.

couple of other things you could do.

1. see if maclink plus can convert the documents
for you to whatever word editing program you have.
(worst case scenario, change the ending to .txt and
you'll get the straight text of the document, but all
the formating "bold, italics, etc." will turn into about
20 pages worth of unnecessary headers)

2. download corel wordperfect (www.corel.com) or
nisus writer (www.nisus.com), they're both free,
and see if they have word translators. corel might.
also, i think apple works (claris works) might have
translators too.

good luck.

I'm using MS Word 5.1 on an older Mac (Centris 650/68040). Are there any downloadable translators to/from MS Word 6+ files, and where?
