Hello, I have an Apple eMac with word. I have been emailing job applications and it seems that they can't be read on non Mac machines. Can this be true? Please tell me there is a REALLY SIMPLE way of clicking on something so that it can be read on different systems.... anybody??? I want to get a job and don't want to have to buy another computer!
Help!!
Tina

Have you tried saving the resumes on your Mac in non-
Mac format, that is in PC format? There should be an
option to save it with a .doc extension rather than a .docx
extension when you go yo Save As. I'm new to Macs, but
I've done this and it works fine.

Hi, yes it is saved as .doc format. It appears some systems can read them and some can't - I haven't had any other feedback. Thank you for responding.

.doc files on a modern Mac and PC should be able to be opened on any modern computer with MS Word. There's no real difference. The systems that can't read them either don't have MS Word or have a really really really old copy of Word that can't open Mac files.
