Comment:

Am trying to find out if the second of the 2
monitor connectors on the tower's back panel
(G5 dual 2GHz) can be used to extend the
desktop to a Sony BVM 20" analogue video
monitor (for video editing and graphics). I
am assuming one -the ADC?- will go to my new
NEC LCD monitor for the "normal" desktop.
The Sony monitor works great as an extended
desktop right now with my old G3 and a
VideoVision video card that has a 3-BNC RGB
out cabled to the back of the monitor's
"computer" (that's what the label on the
Sony monitor calls the input) 25 pin
connector. Note this is NOT a composite or
YUV video signal, but RGB.

So. Would the second G5 monitor connection,
the DVI I believe (I may have these
backwards - I haven't actually received the
G5 yet), drive the RGB INput of the monitor
- assuming I get a cable made to
interconnect?

If I am going down the right path here and
anyone has suggestions for
adapters/cables/converters and suppliers of
these, please feel free to tell me!
Thanks
