I recently aquired a old Beige Mac G3 for really cheap $!
The poor old 6 gig hard drive is dead tho the computer does at least have a screen open with a disc error "?" that keeps flashing as hard drive makes it's dying klunking sounds.
The current drive is a Western Digital 64AA Enhanced IDE Hard drive.
I have many hard drives lying aroung varying from 6 to 20 gig IDE's.
Can I use any of these?
Next ? What kind of memory does the old beige Mac G3 take / maximum memory? This one says on back 32MB but it has 2 of the 3 slots occupied by ram. Is this ram the same as PC 100 SDRAM?
Finally I noticed it has a CPU that looks exactly like this one>>>

Can this old G3 be updated to a 500 MHz? like this card>>>

The only info I can find about model of this mac is on front it says G3, Back says PowerPC G3 266MHz 512K Cache 32MB/6GB 24xCD/Zip/AV
Model Number M4405
Thanks for any info as I am new to the Mac world! I have tried to lookup as much info on my own but still a little lost at this time.(Oh yea) do mac's have a bios? if so how would one enter it?
Thanks again,
Chad
