i want to buy an ipod - either a nano, or one of those new video ones. but i just wondered what software would i need to run it on os 9? i have latest itunes for os 9, and i found some old ipod software, if i installed that would it work?
also, sort of wrong forum but i have a windows xp pro at home, what software would i need to use the ipod on that? lastly i have a worstation at work with server 2003 running on it, can i use an ipod with that too?

hmm the xp, u will have to use itunes, same for the mac, but i don't know of any programs that work for os 9. call apple and ask for the ipod department and tellt hem this is just gernal quistions u need answer before u buy your ipod and let them know your spec and they will help.
1-800 my applejel

Windows xp pro - no problem if it has usb 2.0
However, your older machines may present a problem
because you need high-speed usb 2.0 port to connect
your ipod.As for the software, itunes, but an older version of itunes
may not recognise the up to date ipod. You can only
really connect the ipod to one machine anyway, because if
you connect it to another, you have to reformat the ipod
and start again. You can get around this by saving your music etc, but you
will still get the message. It is Apple's copyright
protection so that you can't plug your ipod in any machine
and take songs from it.Regards,
Kyomii
